Mires Beck Nursery employs around 40 staff on a full and part-time basis. The staff are generously supported in their roles by volunteers.

General Manager

We are pleased to offer the opportunity of becoming our General Manager.

The successful candidate must have an excellent track record in finance, leadership and management as well as the disciplines associated with the position. It is important that applicants are able to demonstrate the empathy and compassion needed to work in this kind of environment.

Mires Beck is an amazing place to work, with beautiful rural surroundings and a wonderful team of people. It provides a unique social care setting within a thriving commercial nursery.

The key skills that are required are:-

Leadership / People Management

Financial - Budget planning, implementation and control

Communications - These must be exceptional to deal with clients, carers, staff, volunteers, local authorities, the general public and customers

Business Management - Projects and developing the nursery for the future

Fundraising - Seeking grants and new income

The Position is full time with some weekend duties. Remuneration to be negotiated.

Relief Support Worker

- Anniversary Garden -

8.45am - 3.45pm

To work on an as and when required basis to cover sickness and annual leave

The Anniversary Garden provides for the needs of adults who have complex or profound disabilities.

This team enjoys a variety of activities including plant work, art and crafts, nature walks, games and music workshops.

We seek staff who will provide a caring, safe and fun environment in which our service users can develop skills, grow in confidence and self-esteem.

Experience of working with adults with learning difficulties or disabilities is essential.

Gary

Gary came as a volunteer in 2010, and is now a support worker in Herbs and Perennials. He’s also our morning minibus passenger assistant.

A nice lad, but we never know what colour his hair will be!!!!

Sandra

Sandra is the Supervisor of the Herb Team. She has been working at Mires Beck for almost 15 years. She has a great team who take a lot of pride in all that they do.
