Mires Beck Nursery - a place to go, a place to like, a place to grow.
As a charity we benefit from the generosity of others, one way in which you can help us is by volunteering your time and skills. There are many volunteering opportunities at the nursery you could be involved with, from helping service users carry out their work to assisting with general nursery tasks. We warmly welcome new volunteers whose skills and time can help us to continue to develop and grow the nursery.
The list below shows some of the areas in which you could help.

In line with current legislation, volunteers are required to complete a DBS check due to the nature of our working environment.
We recruit volunteers throughout the year for short or long term volunteering.

Hello my name is Denise and I am a volunteer at Mires Beck. I have been coming to Mires Beck for 7 years. Over the years I have worked in different areas of the nursery. I now work with the wildflower team. I have made many friends at Mires Beck and we have lots of fun and enjoy our days here.
Hello, I am Tom. I volunteer at Mires Beck on a Tuesday and Wednesday with the herb and perennial teams. I assist the Service Users in all the jobs they do whether that be potting up plants, weeding plants or mixing compost.
I work with a wide range of plants doing a wide range of jobs and I get to work with lots of different people. I also enjoy the health benefits that come with the job due to working outside regularly. Mires Beck is a very supportive and friendly atmosphere to work in.
