Bee Active, Bee Healthy, Bee Happy Week at Mires Beck
Bee Active, Bee Healthy, Bee Happy Week is when the 'Running Bee Foundation' promotes that having an active lifestyle is beneficial to health and well-being.
At Mires Beck, we try to improve the wellbeings of our service users by involving them in all the horticultural operations at the nursery and the therapeutic benefits of our eco-therapy programme.
At our nursery, we are doing a bee course around our nursery site for our service users as this activity will help improve their coordination skills. We will be walking 2 groups of service user teams every day, and their job will be to find the numbered bees.
You can participate in this healthy, active week by joining Mo the Bee, and make positive changes to your lifestyle and community! You could go jogging, or walk that extra mile to improve your health and to stay active. Walking/jogging somewhere enables you to explore and find beautiful landscapes. As Spring is now upon us, you could eat healthier foods. We have delicious, healthy recipes in our Herbs Recipe Book, which you can buy (cash only) in our retail hut.
Now that lockdown is over, you have the perfect excuse to go outdoors, and make up for that fresh air we've all missed out on! Why not take up gardening, either re-shaping what you have at home, or get involved in a community project or allotment. We are always looking for volunteers at Mires Beck to help with our gardening projects.
Come to our nursery to buy our plants and improve your wellbeing! Also, please donate to us to enable us to produce more of our wonderful flowers that improve people's wellbeing. Your donations will also help our service we give to our service users/trainees, as we try our best to improve their wellbeings too.
