My Best Self Day
My Best Self Day is an annual event held by Mires Beck Nursery. We encourage everyone to take part in fundraisers to help support our charity. This event takes place on the last Saturday in June every year however, your personal fundraising can be held throughout the year and celebrated on this day. We invite you to our site where we will be hosting an event so that we can celebrate your accomplishment of all the fundraising that you have done on our behalf.
My Best Self Day is a day were everyone can show off what they have excelled in as their fundraiser, whether that's baking, sports or art- it can be anything! Come down to Mires Beck Nursery to deliver your donations and showcase any images from your event that you would like to share with us. We are happy to try and cover your event with our social media. With every donation we will show what your money has gone towards on our social platforms. We are always thinking of new ways to improve our site to help improve the lives of those with learning difficulties.
We at Mires Beck encourage you to create your own fundraisers to raise money for things that our service users and teams need. Please go to our profiles page to find out what your money will be used for in terms of supporting our service users and equipment that the teams might need.
Adopt a tree
There are now over 6000 trees planted on the 14 acres of conservation land and our young peaceful woodland sits alongside a 4 acre green belt where we have planted a wildflower meadow, willow maze and hedgerows. Here the service users have the freedom to experience the natural setting of the nursery and see many species of insect and bird wildlife. We are expanding the woodland and to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the charity we have 350 Silver Birch trees were planted in November 2019. These trees are now available for adoption as your family tree, or perhaps a memorial for a loved one in a seclude place you are welcome to visit. Our number will contribute to the Northern Forest tree planting target. We have many varieties of birds on site of and our pond plays host to various aquatic species. A new pond dipping platform and bird watching station are being built to allow more learning with the service users.
