Come and buy our Silver Birch trees. They are a favourite nesting site for birds, especially woodpeckers. The leaves provide food for moths and caterpillars, and a variety of birds eat the seeds.

Hardy Perennials 

Award winning plants at Mires Beck. We propogate and grow many varieties of hardy plants for garden and trade customers. 
 
We currently stock over 200 varieties which are suitable for growing in most conditions that you will find in this country. Visitors to the nursery are very welcome to browse our stock areas. Our sales area displays our plants to their best advantage to help you in your plant choices. If you are not sure about which plants to purchase our friendly and knowledgable sales staff are always willing to help.

Wildflowers 

At Mires Beck we grow a wide selection of native wildflowers. All are of Yorkshire Provenance following the established codes of conduct by Flora Locale. Our wildflower plants are available in 9cm pots and 115cc Rootrainers, either at the nursery or by mail order. 
 
We are happy to offer advice on species selection for any location or habitat and a suitable way to establish them. We have supplied large numbers of Rootrainers plugs to organisations including the RSPB, the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, local authorities and the Environment Agency. 
 
Delivery charges apply for any delivery made by courier. 
Deposits required for large scale wildflower and phragmites production orders. 
Mires Beck grows an extensive range of Yorkshire Provenance wildflowers holding a seed base for 100 varieties and is updated regularly.

Herbs 

Our herb team grow and produce 50 varieties of herbs for the kitchen and the garden. Most can be used for culinary purposes, some are more for decorative uses. During the Spring and Summer we grow tender herbs such as Basil and similar annual species. Herbs are grown in 9cm pots £1.75 each and 2 litre pots £4.50 each. 
We have lots of information about the herbs we grow and their uses, so please ask a member of the sales team if you need any assistance. The Friends of Mires Beck have produced a Herb Recipe Book including many of the varieties grown at the nursery for sale in the retail hut.

Shrubs 

Shrubs are an important element in a garden providing year round interest and structure. 
 
They can be planted alone or in a mixed border as a backdrop to other plants. We have chosen a range of shrubs to suite different sizes and styles of garden as well as a variety of foliage, flowers, fruits and stems. 

Plants in Shady Areas 

Our shaded plants are safely in our Shaded Area near our retail area. There are lots of plants, grasses and shrubs in our Shady Area, including these, which you can buy today at our charity! 

Grasses 

Grasses provide great habitat for all sorts of wildlife in your garden.
