Work with us
Mires Beck is a great place to work and to spend time helping our service users learn about the nursery business and to assist our social enterprise through propagation of plants, wildflowers and trees. If working to maintain the asset and the estate are where your experience lies, we are busy looking after our rural site 365 days a year. We are a busy office managing the charity and periodically have posts in administration on a part time basis.
We have varied team structures and as we grow are able to offer flexible working across our diverse operations and offer a generous holiday entitlement.
Be part of a successful charity with a bright future and watch this page for latest vacancies.
Types of Roles
Please have a look at our current vacancies.
It is a requirement that all Mires Beck Nursery staff complete a weekly PCR test and LFT testing. Doing these weekly tests help us to protect our service users, our volunteers and our staff.
Volunteering & Event Support
We are always in need of volunteers. We require a range of skills not limited to the following:
Help to support staff looking after our service users
Help to prepare wholesale garden centre orders
Nelp with plant 'pricking out days'
Help to make wood craft for retail
Help to maintain boundaries and gardens
Help our carpentry team to build structures around the nursery to serve the operations
Our events schedule is planned each autumn for the following year. We often require people to help us with set up and facilitating. These are volunteer one day requests rather than regular volunteering and can offer vital work experience with a charity. Please watch this page for opportunities to get involved.
To apply to be a permenant volunteer with Mires Beck Nursery, you will need to download our word document application form, fill it in and return it to us. However if you wish to help out only occasionally at weekends and events, or in answer to a Facebook call for help, we can accept volunteer support when our service users are not present without having to apply to work alongside them. In this case any enquiry should be directed to Lorraine@miresbeck.co.uk
All the information in the application form will be treated with the strictest of confidence. All parts of the form require completion. This should be done neatly and accurately in black ink or typewritten. If hand written, please ensure that your writing is legible. You may attach extra sheets where necessary, but please put your name and the relevant section number at the top of each extra sheet.
