Social Media Giving Day at Mires Beck
Social Media Giving Day is a day to support charities and create fundraising awareness.
The day was created by Givver.com, which was a platform for fundraising on Twitter in 2013. Givver.com encouraged people to donate to charities on social media, especially on Twitter. This included working with officers around the nation and social media influencers to promote the day by using a hashtag to give or donate to their favourite charity.
Mayors and Governors around America therefore made 15th July "Social Media Just Giving Day".
You may have noticed that we now have a 'My Best Self' part of the website, which includes information about what we need for our charity, introductions to our service users, volunteers and staff members, and how to fundraise for us.
Following on from other great initiatives to raise money, we are doing a sponsored walk of 100,000 steps in July for Mires Beck. We encourage you to take part in your own sponsored walk, whether it is part of your daily dog walk, daily jog, or if it's a great opportunity to take a walk somewhere different, and to raise money for our charity.
