Christmas Jumper Day at Mires Beck
Christmas Jumper Day is about raising money to help 'Save the Children'. This is for a cause that meets children's needs, such as food, education and home life.
Did you know, around the world, millions of children aren't able, or are forced not to, go to school, meaning they miss out on life-changing opportunities.
Nearly 1/4 of children in the world today suffer permanent damage to their minds and bodies due to lack of nutrition, usually because of lack of breastfeeding practices and families are unable to afford food. Climate change is also increasing the frequency of droughts and lack of food.
Newborn death rates are still quite high due to malnutrition challenges. 5.9m children die annually, many from illnesses such as diarrhoea and pneumonia.
At Mires Beck, we are doing our bit for the children by wearing our Christmas jumpers and donating to the 'Save the Children' donation link.
You can get involved as well! Wear a silly jumper and donate £2 to 'Save the Children' using this link.
All projects require fundraising and we are always looking for new sponsors and volunteers to help us realise the future aspirations to maintain the charity and help it to thrive. If you would like to help please contact us.
