Houseplant Week at Mires Beck
Indoor gardening makes our homes look full of life, benefits our health, and improves the air we breathe.
Taking care of a house plant is very therapeutic, as you water them, wipe the house dust off their leaves, and watch them grow over time because of your work.
Keeping up with plant care helps us, as it shows us that throughout time, if we work on something, it will grow into something healthy and strong in the same way. Self-care is very important in these difficult times. Taking time to focus on something that will benefit us is a luxury we can afford during our lockdown.
At Mires Beck, we look after our houseplants in our Oasis foyer by watering, feeding, and dusting them, from all of the rural grit that we bring in to our boots. Last year we grew and sold on many varieties of house plants we displayed in the foyer for sale, however, due to COVID-19, we haven't bought any houseplants for this year, but we are in full preparation for our first garden plants of spring, and are open as a garden centre from February.
Please see website for details.
To help us produce more plants and products for your gardens and homes, please help us maintain our compost mixing machine and hand tools for our trainees, by donating to www.justgiving.com/miresbecknursery.
All projects require fundraising and we are always looking for new sponsors and volunteers to help us realise the future aspirations to maintain the charity and help it to thrive. If you would like to help please contact us.
