Spring Equinox at Mires Beck

Spring Equinox is the first day of Spring, where the days are brighter, warmer and longer. It's warm enough to go outside and enjoy the fresh air and amazing views of the countryside. New life (e.g. birds, plants and lambs) come out, and we can watch the sheep grazing in the fields.

Spring in this COVID-19 year represents the return of some of our service users to work outside in the fresh air and feel the benefits of working with nature.
At Mires Beck Nursery, we are hoping to open access to our woodland area this season with new events and we are building our bird feeding station for enthusiasts to enjoy watching our woodland wildlife (e.g. birds, squirrels).

This is officially the first day of Spring, and to celebrate this day and the many blessings of our location, our staff will wear yellow to symbolise the new sunlight upon the land and pollen that the bees and other pollinators will be collecting to make delicious honey! We look forward to this time every year as the beginning of our plant season and welcome everyone to walk around our beds full of plants beginning to bloom and show their multi-tude of colours and shapes.

We hope for the continued return of our service users back onto our site, so please donate to our Just Giving website, or please go to our donate button to see other options. Also, why not bring a piece of yellow to your garden by buying one of our beautiful yellow plants from our nursery
All projects require fundraising and we are always looking for new sponsors and volunteers to help us realise the future aspirations to maintain the charity and help it to thrive. If you would like to help please contact us.
