National Complementary Therapy Week at Mires Beck

National Complementary Therapy Week celebrates and promotes natural health and the amazing services and work of complementary therapists.

There are so many different types of therapy (such as aromatherapy, massage, reflexology, and more), and each one of those has a national day to them, but this week celebrates all of the different types of therapy. During this week, we credit less well known therapies that are also amazing (such as EMMETT Technique, Spiral Stabilization and Neuroskeletal Re-alignment Therapy).

At Mires Beck Nursery, we provide our service users with horticultural therapy, while also using the CARE approach

Eco-therapy
More and more doctors are prescribing non-clinical tactics to help the mind. Eco-therapy is one of those. Whether you struggle with mental health issues or the stresses and strains of daily life, we've put together a guide on how and why eco-therapy is the best way to help your health. Mires Beck Nursery is a charity that specialises in delivering this therapy to those who struggle with a learning difficulty. Eco-therapy or green therapy is a term for nature-based approaches to healing. This might take place in groups, with a therapist or individually. But, it's the act of doing outdoor activities in nature for therapeutic treatment. Eco-therapy may cover the following:
Trained therapy sessions
Activities taking place in a green environment
Mindfulness in the natural world

Let's not forget how important the natural environment is as a therapy of its own, and doing work in the garden sets a relaxed mindset. So as it's Spring now, the weather is warmer and the sun is shining brighter, let's go out in our gardens and look after our plants!

Please come to our nursery in North Cave and buy our beautiful plants for your garden! We also have lots of bulbs in our new retail hut, with our special offer of 25 bulbs for £3.75, and have peat-free and multi-purpose compost!
All projects require fundraising and we are always looking for new sponsors and volunteers to help us realise the future aspirations to maintain the charity and help it to thrive. If you would like to help please contact us.
