We are open for wholesale and retail sales, Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm with last entry at 2.30pm. Please note that there are no customer toilet facilities open and the woodland area is also closed. We will resume 7 day opening from March 1st 2021 and restrictions will apply until further notice.

As a charity we responded early to the COVID 19 crisis of 2020 and made decisions for the safety of our service users and our wonderful staff. This meant the closure of Mires Beck Nursery as a day care service operation until late autumn. Since November last year we have operated a minimal crisis service onsite and have been able to offer a limited operation to existing service users. This has been an extremely sad and worrying time for the charity, but we have respectfully honoured all the restrictions imposed during this pandemic and we are working with our providers to resume partial services post the February lockdown this year.

During this last year we have conducted a remote operation of communication and learning, whereby our service users have received essential skills packs at home and the benefit of a private Mires Beck social media platform in order to showcase their efforts as a community. We will be revealing the fantastic and inspiring work of our service users in the weeks ahead. It is not known when our site will once again be filled with the personalities we miss so much, but the future for our service users at Mires Beck remains uppermost in our plans.

We have also maintained the critical work at our plant nursery, to care for the plants and trees and thanks to all the volunteers who came to help, we were able to reopen the public nursery under government guidelines. The fantastic work that has been achieved by the critical staff and generous volunteers is testament to their commitment and passion for the charity and its future. We are immensely grateful for the security this will hopefully offer the charity and the pleasure our plants will bring to gardens around the region as we fully re-open again for the 2021 season. We have taken the precious time to manage site changes for this year and have new garden schemes underway, a new visitor station at the woodland walk and new polytunnels for our service users to safe distance arriving in March, so they will see many changes as they return.

As we follow the guidance and look to new changes, the health and safety of our customers, service users, employees both in work and furloughed at home remains our priority. We are now planning the reopening to the public for plant sales and plans are already in place to ensure safe distancing around the site and hygiene for use of equipment and payment operations. We intend to emerge triumphant from this crisis and will resume deliveries to our wholesale customers in March. We are proud to service our community and our county and will do whatever we can do to help in our nation recovery from the pandemic.
